"Current architecture deals with the house, the ordinary and current house for ordinary and current Men. It drops the palace. This is a sign of the times."

- Le Corbusier

Project:

Creation of three adjacent houses in a district of Brussels reusing the basics of the garden city of this post-war suburb.

Theme and place:

The architects of this suburb, who came back from England where they lived during the First World War, imported the concept of garden city into Brussels, a new form of social housing at that time.

The idea was to develop the outskirts of cities for individual workers' homes, featuring all the modern comforts in a green and healthy environment. These districts are endowed with all the facilities: school, leisure facilities, shop...

Architectural principle:

the internal flowchart is simple to read, the three villas work in similar ways, despite the various constraints.
