"All the world is a stage, and all the men and women merely players"
- Shakespeare

Project:
Creation of an international puppet theatre on the Esplanade de la Madeleine in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Theme and place:
The location is the Esplanade itself, whose present appearance dates from the building of the Palais de Rumine between 1898 and 1906.
Space of physical and temporal transition between the Rumine Palace's modern place and Lausanne's old town below on the city's rocky hill.
Architectural principle:
Willingness to have a contemporary touch in an old frame.
Creation of a monolithic object cantilevered from the Esplanade to form a highlighted symbol.

Aesthetic concept:
_Creation taking the idea and properties of a cantilevered container.
_Using the facade as a screen at night to promote shows or games of shadow.
_Recall the internal aesthetics of the outer skin.
Structural concept:
_Use of a metal structure for relief and recovery of loads.
_Use of internal acoustic panels based on a sound-absorbing material module to reduce acoustic waves
and alternation of this module to create an indoor and outdoor pattern.
