Context:
Architects 49 was founded in 1983 by the architect Nithi Sthapitanonda.
During his years as head of A49, he was president of the Siamese Architects Association between 1992 and 1994. Then, he became general secretary for the Architectural Council of Thailand between 2000 and 2002.
In 2002, the Ministry of Culture in Contemporary Architecture named him a national artist.
The company Architects 49 has several branches distributed in strategic locations in Thailand (Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Khon Kaen).
Their projects extend nationally and internationally, as well as their prizes.
The internship:
My role for the company was as an assistant architect. As an intern, I was part of several teams of the Chiangmai branch; I had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from a street colour code proposal for the city to a restaurant, a motorcycle school, and a retirement house/hospital.
